Overall I had a very positive experience with this clinic and I’m incredibly grateful for the care I received during my treatment. Fertility treatment can be such an emotional journey, and having a team you trust makes a huge difference.
Dr Agbaje and Dr Tang were both fantastic — knowledgeable, reassuring and professional throughout. Nurse Gemma was also brilliant, and the embryologist Jamie was fantastic as well. The clinical team really made me feel like I was in safe hands.
One thing I did find a little difficult was continuity of care following the Grove. I was assigned a consultant but never once saw the same consultant throughout my treatment, every appointment was someone different which at times made things feel a little less personal and a bit concerning.
If I had one other piece of feedback, it would be around communication through the patient portal and over the phone. On the one occasion I phoned, the nurse I spoke to wasn’t particularly pleasant, and some of the portal responses felt quite cold and robotic. I completely understand that clinics are very busy, but when patients are going through fertility treatment, a little warmth or empathy in those interactions can make a big difference. This is not something anyone wants to go through.
That said, I’m very thankful for the care I received overall and I appreciate the work the team does to help people achieve their families.
I forgot to mention one detail in my story that I feel would be beneficial to others. I was lucky to have access to internet/social media to do research on IVF, removing certain products from life, removing plastic, removing caffeine, taking supplements etc. It would be amazing to have a small booklet provided to those starting treatment with some advice to help them along the way.
