"Let me down."

About: Raigmore Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I had a referral to the gynaecologist in Raigmore. I was ecstatic to be seen after over 3 years on a waiting list after discussing endometriosis and adenomyosis with my GP. After an ultrasound, the radiographer and two of my GP’s agreed my uterus looked abnormal. I went into my appointment and the consultant had a feel of everything and asked if I was feeling pain on every point they touched. To almost every one, I said yes. They said that since I was feeling no pain and the ultrasound looked “normal” that we should just switch what birth control I am on. I was also told they would book a catchup appointment for 6 month's time. This was a year ago and I am still waiting for that check-up and the pill has not worked as expected (shocker). I have not been taken seriously in this department, and I have not felt listened to, when even my GP has advocated for me.
