"My son"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Blossom Ward (Paediatrics) Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department - Paediatric Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a parent/guardian),

We arrived in Craigavon by ambulance, our son was having a seizure and I have to say from the paramedics who took us here to the hospital staff in resus were absolutely amazing. They made both my son and I reassured and looked after him so well.

We were admitted to blossom for the night. The nurses Emily and Marion were very kind to us and again provided lots of reassurance especially when our son wouldn’t take the oral meds . The next morning, we were greeted by our new staff nurse Kayleigh. Again she was fantastic and very approachable with our questions. Ruth (nursing assistant) was an angel, distracted our son with bubbles and chatted away and checked in throughout her shift. Thank you to you all for your care for our son!

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about your experience on our Blossom Paediatric Ward in Craigavon Hospital. I'm sorry to hear that he needed to attend with a seizure, I know that can be very frightening for families. I'm so very glad to read that the Nurses and, in particular Ruth, were so kind and approachable and were able to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

I wish you and your family all the best, David

Hi Theresa82,

I'm happy to hear that our nurses were so kind, reassuring and approachable, I can only imagine how scary a time that must have been. I will be sure to pass your kind words on to Emily, Marian and Kayleigh; they will be happy to hear.

It was a pleasure to talk to you and your son and to be able to distract him with bubbles!

I hope your son continues to get well,

Ruth
