I was sent to RAH for some investigations after preliminary tests at my local hospital. I was worried about symptoms and nervous about investigations and a probable biopsy.
I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist and shown to a waiting area where I sat for 10 mins until my appointment time.
A nurse, Susie measured my height n weight and was very helpful and reassuring. I was then examined by a doctor, Allison , supported by another nurse, Jen.
Everything was carefully explained to me, the examinations were done with great care and as gently as possible. All of my questions were answered and the scan results were shared with me to make sure I could see and understand what was happening in my body. I felt very cared for and reassured. Most of my results were shared there and then with me and I am due to receive a written serpent of results within a few weeks. I don’t need treatment at the moment and am reassured that I will return for a follow up appointment in around 6 months.
I was given some medication to help with symptoms and again this was carefully explained to me as I hadn’t had such meds before. I had bloods taken to ensure all of the results were confirmed. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care and attention. All of the staff in Clinic B that I encountered are the perfect example of the very best in our NHS.
