"Welcoming, knowledgeable and kind"

About: Children & Young People Physical Health / Children's Neuro Development Service Doncaster

(as a parent/guardian),

We saw a fantastic doctor called Megan for my son's autism assessment and right from meeting her we were instantly put at ease. My son gets extremely anxious meeting new people and is more often than not, completely mute in social or appointment type situations. Megan has such a lovely, welcoming and calming aura about her and she didn’t make him feel awkward about his communication struggles, she included him fully in conversations despite the lack of response from him, she is extremely compassionate and seemed to really understand and relate to his struggles which is something we have not had from professionals before.

I wish we had seen doctor Megan at all of our previous appointments because it was such a different experience having her as my son’s doctor, in the most positive way!

Megan is so knowledgeable and I learned a lot from her in the very short amount of time I spent with her, she answered all of our queries and questions with genuine enthusiasm and interest which was so refreshing.

Every single member of staff we came into contact with in the neurodiversity centre were kind, welcoming and pleasant, but we have to give a special shout out to Megan because she is an absolute asset to your team and the best medical professional we have ever dealt with. Thank you so much for everything and best wishes.

Hello JEich,

My name is Jola and Im the Team manager for the Children's Neurodevelopmental Team in Doncaster. Thank you so much for leaving this wonderful feedback on your experience with the service and particularly with Dr Palmer.

Its great to hear that you had such a good experience with the team, and even greater to hear that you were so blown away by Megan's communication, competence and general warmth. I'm proud to say that all our clinicians really put in a lot of effort to make sure patients and their parents/carers have a wonderful experience, and I know Megan particularly prides herself on ensuring everyone she works with feels heard and understood.

I will be passing on your feedback to the team to give Megan a special shout out. Once again, thank you so much for spending the time to let us know of your experience.

Kind regards

Jola Obisesan

Team Manager
