"I have never experienced a more caring staff"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (Ward 18)

(as the patient),

I have to reach out and first of all thank the staff at ward 18 Monklands, I have never experienced a more caring staff in all my life who do treat you as human, take time for you and make a terrifying time in your life so much better.

I had been admitted having had a 3rd heart attack and had a VF arrest while transferred to hairmyres for my angeogram.

Prior to going I was scared, upset and all the normal feelings you can have.

When I returned they knew about the arrest and it felt like one by one they all took time to come and see if I was ok, this didn't feel like a standard nurse round, but like a human checking on someone going through a rough time.

There are 3 staff in particular, KS and C who were there mostly days and Kay at night, while every single member of staff were amazing, there three i will never forget the human treatment from them. Thank you.

Dear Frank925

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such positive feedback following your recent stay in Ward 18 at University Hospital Monklands. Your experience during what was clearly a frightening time for you. Any feedback is incredibly important to us, and we are truly grateful for your kind words.

I am delighted to hear that our team were able to offer you care that felt human, compassionate, and reassuring—especially after such a significant cardiac event and the distress surrounding your VF arrest. Knowing that the staff helped make an overwhelming situation feel more manageable means a great deal to everyone here.

Your recognition of KS, C, and Kay is especially appreciated. We will ensure your comments are passed on to them directly, as well as to the wider team. They will be very touched to know the difference their compassion and presence made to you.

Thank you once again for sharing your experience. We wish you the very best in your recovery, and please know that the team are here should you ever need us in the future.

Kind regards,

Alan
