"Highgate Mental Health Hospital West"

I have a positive story. My daughter was sectioned and placed under the care of the Sapphire Ward at Highgate Mental Health Hospital. She was there nearly two months. I am pleased with the care she received. The psychiatrist team did not immediately prescribe medication, taking time to see how her symptoms presented and also did not immediately make an assessment. When medication was given, it was initially in small dosage and slowly escalated. The nursing team are dedicated to the care of the patients. At one point, my daughter was put under 24 hour nurse watch because she was not drinking or eating and also taken to A&E when dehydrated. The clinical psychologist was also brilliant taking time to talk through concerns, anxieties and strategies to support discharge. This is NHS at its best, I think. She was recently discharged and I feel I have had support and backing to pull us through the next stage. I’m grateful for all the help. Thank you Sapphire Ward.
