About: Community Mental Health Teams / Early Intervention Service (EIS)

(as a relative),

In the year 2024 my aunty sadly passed away from breast cancer leaving 2 of my cousins without their mother. The eldest suffers with her mental health and she's already been sectioned twice. The youngest doesn't really talk much and when he does talk it's only a mumble here or a mumble there. As a family we called a meeting to discuss this and we agreed to having the youngest assessed by the Early Intervention Team. As a result he was diagnosed with Pyschosis, which we were not prepared for. As a family we are going to make sure that both my cousins are going to get the help they need, we know it's going to be a long journey but we promised my aunty that we would look after her babies 😘

The team has been good and we are feeling hopeful.

Hi Shaba.

Thank you for taking the time to share the trauma and difficulties your family has experienced. This must have been and continue to be a worrying time for all of you.

I am glad that he has managed to access the service and that your experience of the team gives you hope for the future.

Kind Regards

Paul

Thank you Paul for your kind words, it means a lot to both me and the family. You're right when you say it's a good thing that we have managed to access the Early Intervention Team because within the space of nearly a year, my cousin has come a long way and that is down to the team. So thanks again 😊
