I had an infected and broken spine while on holiday in Portugal. I had an operation on my back while there, and was then medevac'd back to Glasgow in extreme agony and with no treatment plan or follow-up.
Our GP contacted OPAT the next day. They saw me within the hour and arranged treatment and orthopaedic follow-up. They took care of all my needs themselves, or arranging it through Orthopaedics or Infectious Diseases services. They managed my outpatient intravenous antibiotics for a total of 11 weeks.
Every member of the team was smiling, helpful and caring. I cannot praise them enough! And I owe my recovering health and mobility to them all. Thank you!
