"A special word of thanks for the therapeutic services"

About: Children and Young People Services / Autism Services

(as a parent/guardian),

This is an unreasonably overdue thanks for the work that Jayne, Creative Therapy Support Worker at Autism Services completed with our son over the course of this year. It was just so impressive to see how Jayne was eloquently and persistently able to enter his world on his terms.

She easily demonstrated that ‘got him’ and he had the ‘felt-sense’ that she got him. Throughout the intervention he always looked forward in anticipation to her sessions and what was especially precious about her therapeutic skills and attunements was how we as parents got to see him interact and engage fluently with another human being outside of our family in a way that has rarely been available to him.

These are gifts, both for him and for us. Through the journey of that intervention, our son was eventually able to find the language to name an underlying and organising anxiety that had previously not been identified and that can now be more specifically addressed . We remain eternally grateful for her intervention and very lucky that our son got to access the unique therapeutic engagements she creates.

Hello indushf97

thankyou for taking time to give feedback and to share your son's progress. It is good to hear how your family has benefited and also how your son has had the opportunity to develop and grow in the sessions. Intervention can be a fluid thing and in this case to identify needs during support allows consideration of these to be accommodated within the intervention offered. I agree that the relationship and insight of staff especially, on this occasion Jayne, is great to see. Jayne is a dedicated member of the team and within her role as creative therapy support worker always delivers her best to suit the needs of each young person. I will pass on your comments and thanks to Jayne directly and wish your son and family continued progress.
