The hospital is very big! I have only been here for a day, it seems very friendly, the atmosphere is good. The environment feels normal, not too artificial or clinical. In comparison to hospitals in Germany it is more cluttered but I like that. It’s nice that it’s not too neat and tidy.
It is difficult to know as a layman how good the care is. I don’t think you will ever know the specifics of your care. When things are more subtle it is difficult to tell. I don’t think you could change this as it naturally goes together with expertise. There does seem to be a spirit of openness but they also have to cover their backs- they are liable. It’s not straightforward, there is a limit to how open we can be. It is a lot better than it used to be.
The food looks ok. It is too far to go for a smoke.
My son is delighted with Kings and brought me here because he was so impressed with his care here.
There has been one moment where I wasn't treated with respect. A nurse beckoned me without even speaking to me. I wouldn't have treated her like that. However this is only one person. Everyone else has been great.
"Apart from one person everyone else has been great"
