"Carers views"

About: Ninewells Hospital Stracathro Hospital

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Carers from Angus told us:-

Ninewells Hospital

They only told my dad how mum was, not me and I'm a carer for mum.

My brother was in hospital. They kept us updated. I'm a carer for my brother.

Mum was in hospital. They let me in past leaving time. That was good. It made a difference in mums care, I'm her carer.

My brother was in Ninewells. We got to bring him in things he liked and go to stay longer.

Stracathro Hospital

Mum was in hospital. Allowed to stay 1-2 hours past visiting time. Useful because we could see mum more.

Dear Carers, thank you for sharing the views of carers from across Tayside.

NHS Tayside staff work hard to ensure that carers as well patients have a positive experience when engaging with our services. Previous feedback from patients and carers has been that flexible visiting makes a big difference. A positive theme from your feedback would appear to be the flexibility of visiting and its great to see that changes we have made are making a difference. I will share this with the Senior Charge Nurses across Tayside.

Kind regards

Caroline
