An elderly friend of mine, is currently suffering from a septic toe and sickness. She has no appetite. She is a severe osteoporosis sufferer, is frail and housebound.
She was diagnosed with a septic toe by telephone by her GP. The GP refused to do a home visit too. The GP prescribed a course of antibiotics 3 weeks ago. The toe is still painful, and the sickness that the antibiotics caused is still troubling her. She has been back on to her GP. Again, the GP refused to do a home visit too my friend who is 90 years old.
I thought that, above a certain age, GPs were supposed to do regular checks on people. She has not seen her GP this year.
I am worried that her lack of appetite will leave her frailer.
Can you please tell me where we stand.
My friend does not know I have sent this message, which is why I have not given certain details.
