I was referred to the orthopaedic consultant Mr Sutton at Claremont following a trip to my GP. Arthritis and Bakers Cyst in my knee had gone to a new level, which was causing me concern and quite a lot of pain. My GP is excellent and had already arranged for me to have an X Ray at the Hallamshire. I was surprised also by the smoothness of this process. Took the form along, not long to wait, was told how long my wait was going to be, and then seen by a pleasant and efficient radiographer.
Receptionist at Claremont was friendly lent me a pen, did not give me too hard a time when I had not filled in the screening form. Was shown in to consultant within 5-10 minutes. I have seen Mr Sutton before and as ever he examined me thoroughly and talked me through the options. As I had suspected no good news but there are options and he was clear about these. He dictated a referral letter in front of me so I know what was said and offered another appointment in 3 months to review.
As good as it gets! ! !
