"Access to treatment room and phlebotomy at health centre"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services

(as the patient),

During month of August consultant and GP requested bloods due to malignancy factors being raised. As working individual found Admin staff inflexible at Shotts Health Centre ie unable to put call through to speak to professional, access to other local health centres booking systems.

Resulted in me phoning around to secure own appointment and feeling staff unhelpful with judgemental and poor attitude towards me as someone who is well and articulate. Left me wondering about response given to patients form vulnerable groups.

Dear pamann,

Thanks for getting in touch and I’m sorry to read about the poor service you received at Shotts Health Centre. I can understand how frustrating and inconvenient this must have been for you.

What you have described does not meet the expectations we have as we aim to provide a flexible and helpful service. I have forwarded your comments to the Service Manager for this area in order to investigate what went wrong on this occasion. I wondered if you could give me a call on 01698 858 292 or drop me an email at laura.bryan@lanakshire.scot.nhs.uk and I would be happy to update you with our findings.

Kind Regards

Laura
