I was most bemused that I had to wait three months to see an employee at the Crawley CMHT. Coincidentally, I was in-the-middle of writing a complaint to Swandean when the telephone rang, and it was the person responsible for my GP practice.
They must count themselves extremely lucky that there were 'no kerfuffles' as, despite not having seen them until 2012, I was on their books (since moving to Sussex in late 2011), and I was their responsibility from the point I had registered with the Sussex GP, as goodness knows what could have happened.
After a crisis occurred in 2012, whereby I attempted to hang myself, I telephoned their CRHTT who did not telephone back, and I was extremely angered by their lack of interest.
I then complained to Swandean for their failure to deal with a crisis effectively, and received a very wishy-washy reply from one of the colleagues, who patently was disinterested.
Though, it must be said, the woman I was under, was quite pleasant, and did work well. Though, their Autistic Specialist Service does need quicker interaction with their CMHT.
In the finish, I returned to Bexley/Greenwich, and vowed never to reside in a rural area again (on the premise that outside of the large cities, funding for MH is pretty poor, as I received poor service from neighbouring Kent & Medway Partnership Trust), and managed to get a ASC/ADHD diagnosis from Oxleas within one week of returning, and if required, can turn up to A&E at Woolwich for a 'holiday'.
They are quite clearly chronically underfunded, and not used to the city-type of mentally-ill person (that has the GMC on speed-dial! ).
