"They made her feel like a princess"

About: Primary and community services / Dental services

(as a parent/guardian),

This is a follow up to my previous story https://www.patientopinion.org.uk/opinions/198736.

Following the initial consultation at Charles Clifford, we were referred to the community dental clinic in Firth Park for my special needs stepdaughter's filling. There was great continuity of care because Mr Utting who had already met her was looking after her on the day.

She was sedated to help her relax and had 2 dental nurses looking after her throughout. The nurses held her hand while all three of them reassured her, sang and counted with her. They were so caring and thoughtful and thoroughly met her needs. They made her feel like a princess.

They have also set up a shared care arrangement with our normal dentist. This means if there any future problems we do not need to be rereferred and we can easily again access the dental community services directly. All in all great patient centred care. And top it all unlike Charles Clifford we could park right outside the front door!

Thank you for your feedback and compliments about the service at Firth Park clinic. It is very rewarding for staff to receive such positive comments. I will ensure that they are passed on to the staff concerned.
