I recently re-experienced Asthma, a condition I thought I had long left in my childhood. Not having experienced any form of attack since my teens I thought initially that I simply had an allergy last spring when the weather conditions were poor and other factors including pollen counts were very high. My symptoms were mainly having a terrible cough (for quite some time) but also tightness of the chest and some wheezing. Fearing maybe something more serious was afoot I reluctantly agreed to see my GP at the School Road practice.
I'm glad I did as rather than tell me I had something serious wrong it was immediately suggested that my Asthma had probably returned. I was given a steroid inhaler and I found in a matter of days my condition did improve dramatically.
I liked the fact I could get a repeat prescription without having to see the dr and that I have been asked to return to see for a review which is due about now.
I found my condition has been much improve particularly during the winter so I am sure to ensure I engage with my GP more in future and thank them for their help, its all so easy to obtain the right help.
