I was taken in to the hospital after getting pneumonia which affected my breathing. My wife called for an ambulance and paramedics were there within a few minutes, they gave me oxygen straight-away.
In the A& E unit I was kept on oxygen overnight and also given a nebulizer and transferred to Brearly ward the next day where I was for 7 nights.
All the staff were fantastic, rushed off their feet and even more so at night. There were 2 nurses to look after 2 bays, the rest of the staff were auxiliaries.
The COPD nurses who came to see me whilst I was in hospital were fantastic. Now that I am at home they are trying to get me off the nebuliser, I am breathing better now. The physiotherapists have also been great, I could not fault any of them.
