At the end of March, my father who is never unwell developed acute sepsis, his GP called an ambulance and he was taken to the NGH A&E in Sheffield.
Despite the resus bays there being full and ambulances queuing outside the care and attention he received was second to none. The staff at the NGH saved his life. He was then transferred to ITU where he stayed for some time and once again received immaculate care and attention from everyone. IMO the NHS is the best in the world at providing world class acute care, its after this that it sometimes fails.
Thank you all the staff at NGH A&E and ITU, you all do an amazing job and deserve the credit for that.
As a disclaimer I work for this NHS trust on non-front line work, but my comments come without bias as I would have commented if the care was poor.
