My Mum was diagnosed with lung cancer with brain mets in February this year and we were told we didn't have even a year left with her. She spent her final days in ward 23 Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, Fife. We were waiting on a hospice bed but she never made it. Sadly my brave mum passed away on the ward.
On behalf of my family and I, a huge massive thank you has to go to the staff on ward 23. The care my Mum and my family received was outstanding. The nurses on the ward could not have done any more for us or my mum. My Mum was comfortable at all times and in the brief periods that she was unsettled they made her comfort their priority. We were never felt rushed to take a hospice bed for Mum. They were genuine and caring and we will be forever grateful. Especially to Donna who sticks out in many of our minds as a loving and selfless lady who really did care about us all. Even today when we visited the ward, she gave us big cuddles. Thank you to you all. We will remember you all forever.
