About: Croydon University Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

My mum who is elderly and has dementia was admitted to Purley 1 and spent just over 2 weeks  

in their care over the festive period. 

The whole team were absolutely amazing including the enhanced care team - especially Charmaine.

In these very difficult times my mum was treated with dignity and respect, and the kindness and empathy  shown towards her was second to none. The staff are so committed and caring and treat all their patients professionally and with so much compassion it is heartening to see. 

It gave my family peace of mind to know that she was being cared for on that ward as we had so much confidence in the care that we saw them delivering. 

The ward sister Sandra is an amazing leader and I’m sure this has an impact on the whole team.

Thank you again Purley 1 for all you did - keep up the excellent work.
