About: Croydon University Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My father was recently discharged from Croydon University Hospital . The discharge documents included a Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation order . The form stated that this had been discussed with my father (highly unlikely as he has dementia). It was poorly completed and no attempt had been made to contact me. I have a LPOA.

This practice is wrong and in the case of my father the Dr has not carried out the correct procedure. Misuse and incorrect administration of DNR is currently in the news.

Please explain who I raise this issue with? Also please review your procedures regarding DNR.

I am truly sorry to read that your father has been unwell and that you are raising concern in respects of the treatment and care that he has received at Croydon Health Services (CHS). I can confirm that your concern has been received in the Patient Experience Team and has been shared with the service, if you would like the service to contact you directly in respects of this matter, please email the Patient Experience Team with additional personal information and we will be able to request that the service contact you directly with the aim for an agreed resolution.
