I am pleased that the community meeting went well on Tuesday. I am sorry to hear that you are not getting out and about as often you would like to be. You have asked a very good question about why students can't take you out for a walk. As far as I am aware students are not allowed to escort patients for a walk without another staff member being present. The University of Nottingham is responsible for setting the guidelines regarding students' welfare during their placements with us and we have to make sure that they are followed. I understand that you only do cookery once a week, unfortunately I cannot do anything to change this as the Occupational Therapy Department has to cater for all five Wards here at Highbury so each Ward is allocated a day for cookery. However if you speak to Esther, who is Rowan 2's Occupatinal Therapist she is more than happy to involve you in other activities. Again please don't hesitate to talk to us, we are here to help.
