I am delighted to share that Professor Louise Locock of the University of Aberdeen has joined the board of Care Opinion as a non-executive director at the start of 2024.

Louise has had a long and impactful career studying patient experience, previously at the University of Oxford and since 2017 at the Health Services Research Unit in Aberdeen. She is well known for her work exploring how different kinds of patient experience data can help staff improve the quality and safety of care.

In recent years Louise has also studied Care Opinion itself, publishing research on the anonymity paradox and with her PhD student Emma Berry on the work of Care Opinion moderators.

Louise explains why she has taken up a place on the board:Professor Louise Locock

"I’ve long been interested in Care Opinion as a source of feedback which can be used to change attitudes, redesign services and promote a more patient-centred culture. Now I’m heading into partial retirement it seemed like a good moment to move from researching it to more active support.

We are immensely grateful to Louise for joining our board, and I know Care Opinion will be strengthened not only by her academic expertise but also her strategic wisdom and practical good sense.
