Feedback February in BHSCT: Listening, Learning and Connecting

Update from Belfast Health and Social Care Trust

Posted by on

Feedback February gave us a valuable opportunity to pause, listen and connect with the people who matter most across Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT).

As part of Feedback February, our team took feedback out of the office and into Trust sites, hosting a series of roadshows designed to make it easier for people to share their experiences and views of our services.

Taking Feedback on the Road 🌍

Throughout the month, we visited a range of locations across BHSCT, speaking face‑to‑face with patients, service users, carers and staff. We intended to raise awareness of Care Opinion, encourage people to tell their stories, and show how feedback is used to improve care.

These conversations were open, honest and often moving. We heard about experiences that people were proud of, moments where staff made a real difference, as well as areas where things could be improved. Many patients told us they valued being asked for their views and appreciated having the chance to speak directly to someone who would listen.

Hearing from staff

Meeting staff during the roadshows was just as important. We spoke with colleagues from a wide range of roles and services, discussing how feedback supports learning, celebrates good practice and drives change. Many staff shared how meaningful positive feedback can be during challenging times, and how constructive feedback helps teams reflect and grow.

These conversations reinforced the importance of letting people know their voices have been heard and explaining what has changed as a result.

Why Feedback Matters

Feedback is more than comments or stories; it’s a powerful tool for improvement. During Feedback February, we were reminded that when people feel listened to, trust grows. When staff are supported to reflect on feedback, learning happens. And when organisations act on what they hear, care improves.

Care Opinion provides a transparent platform where experiences can be shared openly and responded to publicly. It helps build understanding between patients and services and supports a culture of openness across BHSCT.

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to speak with us during Feedback February whether you shared a story, asked a question or simply stopped by for a conversation. Your feedback matters and plays an essential role in shaping services now and in the future.
