It's Day 3 of Christmas Good News, and my selection is this story about Inclusion Matters in Liverpool.

It's never too late to heal

"I am a Hillsborough survivor. I was in a very dark place feeling no hope. For 24 years I carried around my big black dog, until I could take no more.

On my first appointment, I met an absolutely amazing lady who treated me with empathy and kindness (Jeannette).

For 24 years I bottled all my feelings. I never ever thought I would come out of the black hole I was in but with Jeannette's help I managed it (god bless her).

Without her I don't think I would be here. Thank you so much: ) xx

What this story means to me

This story reminds me of how we all have our 'black dogs' - and how much courage it takes to face up to them. How long we can carry them around. And what an immense relief it is when finally we manage to bring them into the light.

And I love the PS - so many people really do want be there for others and for their stories to help other people.
