On Monday 20th January we will be attending the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for "Letters Life and Love Stories - A Celebration of Caring in Scotland” concert, which forms part of the Celtic Connections Calendar for 2014. The concert will pay tribute to Scotland’s carers and the part played by the many professionals and volunteers who contribute during the carer journey.
We are delighted to be part of such a heart-warming celebration ran by the Health and Social Care Alliance and Dementia Carers Voices.
We have invited Fife Young Carers along as our guests on the night and are sharing stories from carers and the responses they got from health services at our Celtic Connections stand.
Fife Young Carers supports children and young people aged between 8 and 18 years whose lives are affected by caring for a family member, who is ill or disabled. Young Carers are offered a range of opportunities to improve their social skills and self –esteem at fortnightly support group meetings to day trips and residentials.
Recently we’ve started working together to help give young carers a voice about their experiences using health care services. If you would like more information on Fife Young Carers please click here.
We are thrilled to be celebrating and giving thanks to all carers taking part in Celtic Connections.

**Here's a little update about the Carers Concert**
We had such a great night at "Letters Life and Love Stories - A Celebration of Caring in Scotland” concert with our special guests Fife Young Carers.
It was fantastic to see everything, which had been discussed for the last three months fall into place.
Well done Tommy Whitelaw and his team at Dementia Carers Voices and the for holding such a poignant event to celebrate caring. Take a look at Tommy's blog here to see what else Dementia Carers Voices are doing to raise awareness.
The bands and speakers left us sad to be going home but we got some good snaps of our night- take a look below;

It was a completely brilliant night!
I think you might have to add the ages of some of the Fife Young Carers to get the number of years since I last saw Hue and Cry and Horse live!
Think Pat Kane (H&C) got it right when he introduced "Labour of love" as a carers song.
Amazing feat pulling it all together @tommyntour and @dementiacarervo - the first Celebration of Caring concert! #applause!
