Hello my name is,
Katrina,
I’d like to take this opportunity during Volunteers Week to thank all of our volunteers, past and present for the valuable contribution they have made and continue to make to our patients, carers and staff.
NHS Lanarkshire has in excess of 500 volunteers ranging from 16-80+ years of age.
We have a variety of roles such as:
Mealtime helpers – help catering staff deliver meals to patients so that staff have more time to assist patients that need help with eating and drinking
Befriending – volunteers provide company during visiting periods for patients who may not have family that are close by or are unable to visit at certain times
Meet and Greet Volunteers – welcome relatives and visitors to the maternity wards, ensure they know where they are going and clean their hands on entry to the wards
Your support helps us provide safe, person-centred care in line with NHS Scotland’s quality ambitions.
All of these roles make a significant contribution to the effectiveness of NHS Lanarkshire.
