Hello,I would like to say that I felt great during cataract surgery. I had very good care. The nurses who took care of me before the surgery were very helpful and nice. They explained to me exactly what they were doing (they gave me eye drops when asking questions about my health), and then instructed me in detail on what to do after the surgery.
I also received a brochure with all the information I needed and a letter to my optician.
Dr. Wilson, who performed the cataract surgery, is a great doctor. Before the procedure, he explained to me exactly what it would involve, told me about the risks involved and constantly encouraged me. I felt that I was in the hands of a professional and I was not afraid at all.
The surgery went without any complications.
Then I was taken to the waiting room, where again very nice nurses took care of me. Then my friend drove me home by car.
And my new life began. I've never seen so well! This is amazing! I can see very far, in detail. Everything is extremely clear. My eyes don't hurt when I read too much (I love reading!) or when I work on the computer. For me this is completely new and unusual, because my eyesight has been very poor since childhood (I am in my 60's now).
From the bottom of my heart I thank Dr.Wilson for his great work, knowledge, absolute professionalism, sense of humor and empathy for his patients. Thank you to the nurses for their wonderful care, help and smile. I would like to thank the scientists from Zeiss in Germany who produce such wonderful lenses. It's amazing how science and technology can help with health problems. I am extremely grateful to everyone at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline for organizing this surgery for me.
Now I will be impatiently waiting for the surgery on the other eye.
