"Attitude of specialist"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I have recently moved so got transferred to a different specialist at Lincoln. On answering my telephone review, the specialist asked why they were seeing me as they felt I should be going to Doncaster. I explained Lincoln was connected to my previous hospital, whereas Doncaster isn’t and I was already months overdue my consultation.

The specialist didn’t seem happy to take me on. They accused me of not having my bloods done, which I did have done three weeks earlier. This is clearly a system error on your part as all my letters (GDPR breach) were being sent to my old address, even though I had given my new one and a member of staff confirmed they had it on the system.

I have found the care atrocious. I said to the doctor I would like to start a family so need to come off the methotrexate, they said a nurse will aim to be in touch with me. I still haven’t heard anything to arrange a change of medication, even though the doctor has told me to stop methotrexate ready for starting a family.

I wish I’d gone the distance to my old hospital, as my specialist there  was much better than the specialist I spoke with, who couldn’t seem to care less. I’m in my 20s with a condition I shouldn’t have at my age, that’s hard enough without unwilling doctors.
