"Fabulous experience"

From the minute I arrived at Ward 7 in PRI for a gynaelogical procedure, I was made to feel at ease

As advised prior to admission, I met with lots of people who asked lots of questions. The main thing was that I was consulted about everything that would happen and checked on in between to make sure I was okay and had water. They also let me know I would be last to go which was very helpful.

Lots of double-checks where made to ensure I knew all about the procedure. When the porter sensed I still had a small doubt about something, she made sure I could speak to the consultant to have any questions answered and felt 100% sure about proceeding. 

Afterwards there were lots of checks to make sure all was okay, and I got a lovely 2-course dinner before I went home.

Everyone I met seemed to love their job and took pride in doing it well. From the lady with the tea, and the porters to the nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists - everyone was so caring and friendly (with each other as well as the patients) which made me feel like I was in safe hands. 

It was really a masterclass in how to treat people - which was especially appreciated at a time when I felt a bit vulnerable.
