"Thank you everyone and please get the pool fixed soon 🙏"

About: Musgrave Park Hospital / Rheumatology

(as a service user),

I was admitted for a week of physio to help with my flare up of Ankylosing Spondylitis.

The consultant, nursing staff OT, and physios have been outstanding and the service I have received has been second to none and really helpful.

It was hugely disappointing that the hydro pool is still not working. This has benefitted me greatly in the past and I have been waiting for some time now to be able to avail of it.

I cannot stress enough the importance of the pool. I am doing my best to continue to work and the hydro pool really helps me get on my feet during flare ups.

Apart from the disappointment of not having the use of the pool I would like to express my gratitude to my consultant and all staff, especially the physios who have helped me greatly this week.

I would also like to pay compliments to the kitchen staff who have made nutritious and delicious food all week, as well as the servers who go out of their way to be helpful. I do not know what I would do without this service which helps me to continue to work through my illnesses.

Thank you everyone and please please get the pool fixed soon 🙏

Dear Dia65,

Thank for taking time to post this feedback. I am glad to hear that your inpatient stay was positive and that you benefited from it. I will pass this lovely feedback onto the team and also the physio managers so that they can look into the hold-up with repairing the pool.

I hope you are, and continue to keep well.

Kind regards

Julie Bray

Dear Diag65,

On behalf of the Physiotherapy Team I would also like to thank you for this excellent feedback on the care that you received from the multi disciplinary team in Rheumatology.

They truly are a great Team and have been made aware of your compliment.

I can only apologise that you were not able to avail of aquatic therapy this time, due to the fact that our aquatic therapy pool is out of order.

Unfortunately the breakdown of the pool was unforeseen, out of our control and the damage caused by the leaks major. The repair processes have been difficult and complex for a number of reasons.

We are doing our very best, working alongside the Estates Team to get this service up and running again as we are very aware of the importance the availability of this intervention has for our patients.

Once again, I am sorry you missed aquatic therapy this time, hopefully we will be up and running again soon. I wish you good health as you continue to manage your condition.

Kind regards

Ingrid Traynor (Interim MSK Clinical Coordinator)
