"Disappointing "

About: Torkington House

The staff do not appear to be equipped to deal with dementia residents. They complained that they found my father difficult to understand (as part of his condition, he says random things), if he refused part of his meal, they complained that he is uncooperative. He is a frail 92 year old who shuffles when he walks if unaided, cannot stand up unaided and they found him too difficult to manage and asked him to leave. I got the impression that they either had no knowledge and/or interest in dementia patients unless they were heavily medicated. I am glad he is out of there as I feared for his safety.
