About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Stroke care (Wards 56 and 68)

(as a service user),

Unfortunately I suffered an ischaemic stroke in September and was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow.

I was an inpatient in ward 56 in the Langlands building for extensive speech and language therapy. My assigned therapist was Brogan whose care was absolutely out of this world and I don’t believe I would have even half the confidence back if it wasn’t for her.

As much as I am still improving every day with my speech I believe without her help I wouldn’t be at the stage I am at. She visited me on the ward every day and once I was discharged she made sure I was going home with sufficient “homework” until I got a space in the community speech and language team.

I'm so sorry to read that you suffered an ischaemic stroke in September and was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow, but delighted you felt you had received so much help form Brogan at QEUH.

That must have been such a scarey time for you and understandable about losing confidence when something like that happens to you.

I'm glad to read also that you are improving everyday and that you have "homework" to do

Keep up the good work and I will pass on your appreciation to Brogan and the team 😊
