"They never made me feel bad or a nuisance"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department University Hospital Monklands / General Surgery (Wards 4 & 7)

(as a service user),

Taken into A and E by ambulance.

A and E was so busy it was a nightmare, ambulance crew were from lightburn hospital, they were fantastic, very attentive and kept me very calm.

Finally got a room those poor nurses were run off their feet, I don't know how they cope, but they did send me up to ward 4 late in the evening. Staff were very good there as well. Moved again to ward 6 where I stayed for a few days. Staff were always very nice although very busy.

I was in a lot of pain and very sick lots of mess, they never made me feel bad or a nuisance. Can't praise the nursing staff enough. Some of the doctors could take a few lessons from them.

Dear Oscarqm97,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to you, that sounds terrifying. I do hope that you are feeling better. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan

Dear oscarqm97

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience when being brought into A&E and admitted to Wards 4 and 6 within the Hospital.

I am sure this must have been a very anxious and worrying time for you and I am glad that the nursing staff in A&E and Wards 4 and 6 were able to care for you and put you at ease.

I will make sure that your lovely feedback is shared with the nursing teams.

With best wishes

Lynn
