"Paying for parking after a hospital appointment"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Outpatients

(as the patient),

The outpatient care I had received at the hospital had been really good, staff were really caring and engaged. It couldn't have gone any smoother.

Parking hadn't been an issue even though the car parks were very busy.  However there are only 3 pay machines and only 1 was working and the app wasn't working. This isn't uncommon. The queues were so long the person in front of me ended up going over a time period and ended up paying a considerable amount of money through no fault of their own.

Attending hospital is stressful enough but when you have private companies adding to the misery this doesn't help.
