"Lack of empathy and compassion"

About: Coatbridge Locality Support Service / Treatment Room

(as a relative),

I recently attended the treatment room with my elderly mother, and as we went to check in there was no-one was there.

A member of staff was at the cabinets and didn’t notice us, so I said excuse me, they then came to the desk saying nothing and when I gave my mother’s details they replied that’s fine, to which I replied so what do we do now, they pointed to the waiting area and asked us to take a seat.

We have been to have bloods on numerous occasions and felt this matter was very rude and dismissive. I would have hated my mother to attend herself as she would have been confused. I felt this was a very unprofessional manner for admin to be treating elderly patients as my mother has the start of dementia and they showed no empathy or compassion towards us.
