"Impressed by the kindness and compassion"

About: Maternity / Emergency Obstetric Unit The Ulster Hospital / Neonatal

(as a service user),

I received excellent care, from the consultant and midwifery support staff who saw me in outpatient clinic, and then following admission from the staff in EOU, labour ward and the maternity ward both pre- and postnatally.

My baby received high quality compassionate care from the neonatal and paediatrics team also.

I was so impressed by everyone’s kindness, compassion and evident passion for their job, from those working in support services and maternity support roles, to the midwives, nurses and medics.

I’m very grateful for the care we received and for the safe delivery of my baby. It was an anxious time but we felt that we were in very safe hands throughout.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby!

I am delighted to hear that you and your baby were able to stay together on the postnatal ward. The Midwifery, Neonatal Nursing and Paediatric Medical team work together as part of the Transitional Care team to reduce admissions to the Neonatal Unit, and more importantly keep mums and babies together.

Family integrated is at the heart of what we do and so glad to hear that you and your baby were part of this journey. It is a journey that can be very emotional and we wish you and your family all the best on your new journey at home.

Best wishes

Alison Bartlett
