"Blood Pressure Monitor"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Outpatients

(as the patient),

I recently required a 24 hour blood monitor ,for which I attended an out-patients clinic at the New Victoria,Glasgow

Staff were caring and helpful.

I want to pass on the following which I hope, will help staff to make positive adjustments for patients.

I found the way the monitor was fitted was unwieldy and awkward to wear. The tapes to hold it are thin and narrow. I felt the monitor was insecure. The monitor is quite heavy and would be easier with sturdier straps or a bag fitted round the waist. I was concerned that I would dislodge the tube.

I had a very poor night’s sleep, much less than normal . I think patients should be informed in the leaflet before they have the monitor fitted.
