Background
Since 2011 we've been working proactively across Scotland with health services, third sector organisations and with Government.
In 2013 the Scottish Government publicly announced their endorsement of Care Opinion as an independent, open and transparent way for patients and the public to share their stories and experiences of health services across Scotland.
Now all health boards in Scotland are using Care Opinion (including both territorial and special health boards) to listen to what people and their families have to say and are responding and showing where they are making improvements as a result.
2021/22 facts and figures:
- Nearly 4,696 stories shared about NHS boards
- 69% stories were positive, sharing thanks and appreciation
- 95% stories were responded to
- Stories have been read more than 904,205 times so far

Health & Social Care
But remember Care Opinion isn't just about services provided by health boards! Now people can share their experiences of other health and social care services in Scotland too. We have started working with a variety of health and social care partnerships and other key organisations to raise awareness and encourage the use of Care Opinion.
