Almost every story published on Care Opinion will be linked to one or more services. The story author and the moderators both aim to get the story to the right staff in the right health/care organisations.
Sometimes you might see a story that you believe has not been linked to the right service. You probably have more knowledge about your own services than Care Opinion moderators do, and you might see clues that suggest the story should be linked elsewhere.
If you are an admin in the right subscription, you can use the new story relinking page to put things right.
Who can relink a story?
To be able to relink a story, you need to be an admin in a subscription representing an organisation directly providing health/care services.
Which stories can you relink?
You can relink stories within the scope of your subscription, which have been published within the previous 4 weeks.
For such stories, you can propose additions, changes or removals of any linked services which are part of your organisation.
You can't propose links to services outside your organisation, or changes which would leave the story with no links within your organisation. Contact the Care Opinion support team if you want to request such changes.
How to relink a story
1: Make sure you are logged in and go to the story you would like to change the service link(s) for.
2: Go to the "This story" section in the drawer an click "relink this story".

3: On the story relinking page you can:
- Add a new service link (click green "+add link")
- Edit an existing (use drop down and select "change to")
- Remove an existing service link (use drop down and select "remove")

4: Once you have made changes click "submit proposed changes".
If you leave the "don't send incremental alerts" box unchecked, Care Opinion will send an email alert to any staff that now have the story included within their saved alerts. Most of the time, this is what you want to happen - so the correct people can read and respond to the story.
Some top tips
- Only make changes if you are certain. Otherwise you risk sending lots of emails to your colleagues unnecessarily.
- You want to go down the service tree to be more service specific, not less.
- If the service is incorrect CHANGE it. Do not remove it and re-add it. You may loose the ratings and they can't be brought back.
- You can only relink to services within the scope of your subscription - you can't link to services in other organisations
- You cannot remove all service links from a story - the story must be linked to at least one service in your subscription.
- You can only re-link services to a story within 4 weeks of publication.
