When someone shares a story, they give consent for Care Opinion to share it online for everyone to read and learn from. They are free to withdraw that consent at any time, which means that the story will no longer be shared on Care Opinion.
There are many reasons why a person might withdraw a story. Some common reasons are:
- a concern about being identified
- a wish to change or add to their feedback
- unhappiness with Care Opinion moderation
An author does not have to give a reason, but if they do, it is held confidentially and informs improvements to our service.
Legal note
Care Opinion is required under UK GDPR to have a "legal basis" for sharing people's information online, and for us, that legal basis is consent. When consent is withdrawn, we have no right to continue to share the information.
